granny square zipper pouch Crochet Pattern

I made a tutorial about how to make this Granny Square Zipper Pouch. At first I thought it didn’t need interlining but I did add it in the end so the pouch also can be used for small things or crochet hooks and supplies.

I used beautiful colors from the Catania cotton collection which were send to me by https://schachenmayr.com/en The colors are: kaki, pale green, himbeer and rosa. I added the pattern and diagram for the granny square I used. Feel free to use any granny square pattern you like but keep in mind the size of the pouch can be different.

Granny Granny Square Bag Crochet Pattern

This tutorial is based on a square granny bag I made a few years ago. The original blog post can be found HERE. There are many details in this post that will be very useful. However, this is a slightly different version. I made this new one a little less picky.

There are two movies. The above shows how to fold the bag. Here’s how to join grandmothers to Join As You Go. I start by making a grandmother’s square, then at the time marker 5.25 I start to connect them.

The Jackfield Tile Tote Bag Crochet Pattern

This colorful bag is based on The Jackfield Tile Square pattern (design available separately – free download here) but can of course be made with any suitable square. The simple cover is made of three parts and then permanently sewn together into an inexpensive, pre-made linen base – a hassle-free way to increase strength, stability, shape and grip in one go.

Instructions are given for DK or Aran / worsted yarns using the appropriate hook. Most importantly, the notes also allow you to adjust to fit any size and any size and depth inside the bag as long as the front panels are square.

The pattern is 6 pages long, packed with photos and helpful tips. Now also available translated into Spanish (7 pages) – thank you very much to Julia Veloso for her hard work! Please feel free to contact me if you encounter any problems. Inquiries regarding the Spanish version of the design will be forwarded to Julia.

granny square bag Crochet Pattern

If you don’t have enough yarn left over to make a blanket or other big project but enough that there’s a project waiting, why not make a bag!!

I probably used about 200grams of aran weight acrylic to make this bag. Various oddments were chucked in to create an interesting but pretty nifty combination of colours!
